HIPK4 or homeodomain interacting protein kinase 4 is a serine/threonine protein kinase that can act as a co-repressor of transcription factors. HIPK4 has been shown to phosphorylate the human p53 protein at serine 9, both in vitro and in vivo which is important for p53 mediated transcriptional repression.
